Felix M. Simon is the Research Fellow in AI and News at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and a Research Associate at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII) at the University of Oxford. His research looks at the implications of a changing news and information environment for democratic discourse and the functioning of democracy. He regularly writes and comments on technology, media, and politics for various international outlets, including as a monthly columnist for Nikkei, and advises media organizations and companies on AI. Simon holds a DPhil and MSc from the University of Oxford’s Internet Institute and a BA in Film and Media Studies from Goethe-University Frankfurt. He is affiliated with Columbia University’s Tow Center for Digital Journalism and the Center for Information, Technology, and Public Life (CITAP) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
