Emma Scales is a Ph.D. student in Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology at Cornell University and an organizer of the McClintock Letters, penned by graduate students and early career scientists around the country. Her research at Cornell’s Pawlowska Lab focuses on the genetic and molecular underpinnings of endosymbioses. Scales earned her Bachelor of Science in Biosciences from Rice University.
