Isabella Ramírez

Isabella Ramírez is a junior at Columbia University studying sociology and Hispanic studies. As the 148th editor in chief of the Columbia Daily Spectator and President of Spectator Publishing Company, she leads the editorial and business operations of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit generating $200,000 in annual revenue and over 1,000 annual articles. She also works as a social media editor for The Daily Beast, where she interned as a breaking news reporter. During the summer of 2024, Ramírez will be a breaking news intern at POLITICO in Washington, D.C.

Ramírez has served as the 2022 National Youth Poet Laureate South Regional Ambassador and the 2020 National Student Poet of the Southeast, the highest honors for youth poetry in the United States. Additionally, she has worked as a research/faculty assistant at Columbia and its School of the Arts, as well as a program assistant for CantoMundo, a national poetry organization dedicated to Latine poetry.
