Beba Cibralic

Beba Cibralic is a researcher at RAND, focusing on AI governance. Previously, she was a visiting scholar at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence at the University of Cambridge. She is the co-author of Machine Agency (2025). Cibralic has worked on AI ethics in industry, as a responsible AI lead at JPMorgan Chase & Co and contributed to AI policy through projects with the Center for Democracy and Technology and the Center for Security and Emerging Technology. She received a Ph.D. in philosophy from Georgetown University, an M.A. in China studies from Peking University, where she studied as a Yenching Scholar, and an undergraduate degree in philosophy and political science from Wellesley College.
