Ben Buchanan

Ben Buchanan is an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. He served in the Biden White House for all four years, including as the White House Special Advisor for AI and as Director for Technology and National Security on the National Security Council. He is the author of three books on AI, national security, and cybersecurity. Prior to joining the White House, he was a professor at Georgetown University. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Georgetown University, and a PhD from King’s College London, where he was a Marshall Scholar.
