Hannah Vester

Hannah Vester is a legal fellow at the Knight First Amendment Institute, where she works on issues related to government surveillance and platform regulation. She holds a B.A. in politics from Princeton University and a J.D. from Yale Law School, where she was a member of the Media Freedom & Information Access Clinic and the Supreme Court Advocacy Clinic, and served as an articles editor on the Yale Law Journal. As a student clinician, she worked on issues related to press freedom, government transparency, immigration, and federal sentencing. Hannah was also engaged in research and advocacy related to prisoners’ rights and the rights of those on death row.

During law school, Hannah interned with the ACLU of Michigan, where she worked on a challenge to Michigan’s sex offender registration scheme. Prior to law school, Hannah worked at the Center for Court Innovation, where she helped develop and implement alternatives-to-incarceration programming in New York City.
