Hoda Heidari

Hoda Heidari is the K&L Gates Career Development Assistant Professor in Ethics and Computational Technologies at Carnegie Mellon University with joint appointments in the machine learning department and the Institute for Software, Systems, and Society. She is also affiliated with the Human-Computer Interaction Institute and the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University and co-leads the university-wide Responsible AI Initiative and the K&L Gates Initiative for Ethics and Computational Technologies. Heidari is interested in the ethical and societal aspects of artificial intelligence and machine learning. In particular, her research has addressed issues of fairness and accountability. She is part of the AI Institute for Societal Decision Making, one of the National Artificial Intelligence Research Institutes funded by the National Science Foundation.
