Kiran Wattamwar

Kiran Wattamwar is a legal fellow at the Knight First Amendment Institute. Before her fellowship, she worked as a software engineer and privacy and civil liberties engineer at various technology companies. While in law school, she worked with the Juelsgaard Innovation and IP Clinic to help secure First Amendment protections for anonymous speakers online. She also served as lead editor for Stanford's Technology and Law Review, as a student advocate with the Three Strikes Project, and as a volunteer for the Transgender, Gender-Variant & Intersex Pro Bono Project. Kiran previously interned with the Electronic Privacy Information Center, the ACLU, and the ACLU of Northern California on issues of speech, technology, and privacy. Kiran holds a B.S. in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a master's in design engineering from Harvard University, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
