Sharif Abdel Kouddous

Sharif Abdel Kouddous is the Middle East and North Africa editor at Drop Site News, an investigative news outlet founded in 2024. 

He was previously a senior producer, co-host, and correspondent for the TV and radio hour “Democracy Now!” and a freelance journalist covering the Arab world for a number of TV and print outlets. His reporting has earned numerous honors, including a Peabody Award for his Gaza documentary “The Night Won’t End,” a George Polk Award for his investigation into the killing of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, an Emmy award for his coverage of the Trump administration’s Muslim travel ban, and an Izzy Award for his coverage of the 2011 Egyptian revolution. Kouddous also contributes to The Palestine Festival of Literature as a curator.
