Accessibility Guidelines and Federal Lease Renewals
The Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board may require, pursuant to the Architectural Barriers Act of 1968, that buildings first leased by federal agencies after 1976 be brought into compliance with current accessibility standards when the agency negotiates renewal of the lease. The OLC does not provide release dates for its opinions, so the release date listed is the date on which the opinion was authored.
