Aashna Agarwal is a program associate at the AI Now Institute, supporting the organization’s flagship reports, convenings, and policy strategy on corporate power, AI accountability, and tech industrial policy. Before joining AI Now, Agarwal was the communications coordinator at the Knight First Amendment Institute, where she supported the Institute’s communications portfolio and day-to-day operations, managed the undergraduate intern program, and coordinated public events programming. She previously worked at Freedom House as a research associate, leading the Asia portfolio for Freedom on the Net, the organization’s annual survey and analysis of internet freedom globally. Before that, she worked on PEN America’s digital safety team, supporting a training program that equips journalists and writers facing online abuse and harassment with digital safety resources. She holds a B.A. in international relations and journalism from New York University.
