Dominique J. Baker is an associate professor of education and public policy at the College of Education and Human Development and at the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Delaware. She is also an Alliance for Higher Education fellow, served on the Board on Higher Education and Workforce within the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine, and was recognized as the Early Career Award winner by the American Educational Research Association.

Baker’s scholarship focuses on the dynamics between education policy and campus climates, with research on financial aid, race and admissions, and academic freedom. She is the author of the Inside Higher Ed column “Echoes in the Quad” and has been published in various outlets, including the American Educational Research Journal, The Atlantic, and The New York Times. She earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies from Vanderbilt University.
