Adriana Lamirande

Adriana leads media and social media strategy at the Institute, working to amplify its impact litigation, scholarly research, public education projects, and policy advocacy. She is focused on reaching key audiences including lawmakers across the aisle, the general public, and Big Tech stakeholders, through consistent engagement with top tier press, a nimble digital content strategy, and managing partnerships with major organizations in the free speech, press freedom and digital rights space. She has landed feature stories and secured Institute expert commentary on breaking news stories in both national and tech-focused publications including CNN, New York Times, NPR, Washington Post, POLITICO, Reuters, The Hill, The Verge, WIRED, amongst others.

Her previous role was at a tech PR in San Francisco, managing crisis communications and representing leading internet and cybersecurity companies, including Cloudflare, Carbon Black, and Wickr.

She holds a Master’s Degree in tech policy and human rights from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. Her research was focused on free speech and content moderation online. During this time, she supported policy advocacy and legislative analysis efforts at New America's Open Technology Institute think tank Ranking Digital Rights, and served as a fellow organizing State of the Net, the nation's leading internet policy conference.
