Jules Barbati-Dajches is an analyst for the Center for Science and Democracy at the Union of Concerned Scientists. Their work focuses on the politicization of science and equity, including analysis that supports advocacy campaigns. Before joining the organization, Barbati-Dajches served as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Arizona and as a consultant advising organizations on messaging, data collection, and analysis. Their research examines how perceptions and behaviors are shaped by messaging factors such as source, format, and medium, with particular attention to social inequities and their effects on marginalized and vulnerable groups. Barbati-Dajches’s research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals including Mass Communication and Society, Health Communication, Psychology of Popular Media, Communication Research Reports, Communication Studies, and Vaccine. They hold a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Arizona and M.A. and B.A. degrees in communication from the University of Oklahoma.
